New York Will Allow Beer Without Food In Pubs

The NY Senate has decided that if you have a beer at a New York bar, you won't have to eat.

Some bars and restaurants have tried to find a solution to the rules for food and beer. A pub in New York made headlines for the sale of "Cuomo Chips," which was a bag of chips that cost a dollar.

However, the State Liquor Authority was updating its guidelines at that time to state that customers must order a substantial meal item in order to serve alcohol. "It will allow people to have a drink with us and then go somewhere else for dinner and vice versa," Tiffany said. "This way they will really be able to experience the community as a whole."

The governor announced on Wednesday that he would lift the curfew at 12 o'clock for bars and restaurants in the state. For indoor meals, it should enter into force on 31 May.

The midnight curfew for outdoor dining should be lifted on May 17.

The suspension of the food and alcohol mandate seems to take effect immediately.
